Tessa Thompson talks one thing she only found out about her 'Creed III' Co-Star Michael B. Jordan

Jordan as director is serious business, according to Thompson's experience

By Black Headline Newswire

"Creed III" is the third film to star Michael B. Jordan and the ninth film in the larger "Rocky" franchise but the movie was a real first in one important way, as it marked Jordan’s directorial debut. Nobody really knew what sort of a director’s eye the actor would have, but co-star Tessa Thompson says one area Jordan was surprisingly involved in was her clothing.

Appearing on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," Tessa Thompson revealed that her director Michael B. Jordan had some fairly strong opinions about numerous elements of the film, as you might expect. However, he apparently put his foot down in a surprising way when it came to an outfit the actress wanted to wear in a particular scene.

Creed III is a 2023 screenplay by Keenan Coogler and Zach Baylin. It is the sequel to Creed II (2018) and is the first film in the series not to feature Sylvester Stallone reprising his role as Rocky Balboa, though he is credited as a producer alongside Ryan Coogler, who contributed to the film's story. The film has grossed over $274 million worldwide and was released on premium video-on-demand services on April 1, 2023.

Although the film was met with mixed reception for not including the Rocky Balboa character, Creed III is living proof the Rocky Balboa franchise is strong enough to reign victorious 47 years later, according to Collider.com.

On website Rotten Tomatoes, 88% of 326 critics' reviews are positive, with an average rating of 7.1/10. The website's consensus reads: "Stepping out from Rocky Balboa's iconic shadow at last, the Creed franchise reasserts its champion status thanks to star Michael B. Jordan's punchy direction and a nuanced heel turn by Jonathan Majors."
